April / 2007 - The band released recently a remaster version from their first demo (Rise of the Fair/Fall of the Church - 2003), that work was done by the own guitarist of the band.

March / 2007 - Recording Log

15/03/07 - Arrival at Caxias do Sul, after 8 hours and half travelling in a fucking heat and having to take 2 "drip-it drips" buses, to arrive at the destination. At last, much rain today in the mountains, we arrived and we were direct for the guesthouse.

1..2..3 - Recording!!!

16/03/07 - 1º Day: Arriving at the studio, we met Roger (Earth - Seduced by Suicide), some drinks to heat and soon we start the drums record that it was already prepared when we arrived. Then it was only some basic adjustments to press the REC, and to get time we take the guides of ready musics, this sped sufficiently.

17/03/07 - 2º Day: Within few hours we had finished all the drums, following this, we recorded the bass-guitar of almost all musics today.

18/03/07 - 3º Day: Some drinks in the arrival at the studio and we start to record the rhythm guitars of all musics.

19/03/07 - 4º Day: We finish the rhythm guitars and some licks.

20-21-22/03/2007 - Days OFF - That is, days to relax, to make Iôga, to consult the Búzioses, and to rest alone in one room demanding that nobody bothers…

OF COURSE NOT! hehehehe a band in recess of a recording means: Let´s party, getting drunk, and meet different persons (still more in a great city). In the first day of recess it was not very satisfactory therefore was raining and this confuses the things and also we don´t know nothing about this city hehe.

In the following day we already found cool places, after some information, we found a very “old school” Bar, coulded Pablo´s Bar, it was too much that the values table was not using the actual currency and it was using the currency used in 1980! And some another cool stuffs! At last everything with nostalgic air of 70´s and 80´s and many fans of Creedence hehe.

Last day of “recess”: We drink many beers with an our friend, her name´s Sandra, by the way she´s owner of the guesthouse that we are living some days, many laughter in this rock n´roll night!!Passing some hours we found some rare persons that every city must to have it hehe, a Jim Carey look-alike, a crazy guy from Uruguay and a artist that live in the streets, that guy is awesome, he made a miniatures using just the old aluminium cans.

1..2..3 - Back to the Studio!!!


23/03/07 - 5º Day: They was lacking some adjustments in the rhythm guitars to go ahead with the lead guitars and arranges, and it´s being a lengthy stuff because it needs to sounds great!

24/03/07 - 6º Day: Finally, it´s time to record the voice, as everybody know this is the most difficult part of one recording, it´s demanding many attention and calm. And today some leads they were made.

25/03/07 - 7º Day: Following ahead with what it lacks, that is, voices and solos and the acoustic parts (Newness for the band).

26/03/07- 8º Day: We finished all the instruments and voices, after 64 hours of recording nothing would be better than a Vodka at seven o´clock (After the last REC in the computer) and celebrate the recording of our first full-lenght. In all these days together, some stresses happened, by the way: live with persons (friends or not) always it will be hard. But surely the laughter was great and we enjoyed a lot this "journey"!.

27/03/07 - It´s time to coming back to our homes after 13 days living only for the band, something very rocker!!! We hope some day live this reality, making gigs around the world and travelling. But NOW! We need to finish the mixing of the album!

The band will make a show in the Cruz Alta city divulging some new sounds that will be in the first official record of the band after 6 years of your creation.

About the First Album Recording:

We´re working in the music compositions of our first record. The instrumental construction is very good, everything is being made by the collective way. Each one of us is placing its influences in riffs and led, that it makes the sounds seen well with the face of the band, that is, pure Heavy Metal!

One of the new features is that the album will be thematic. The lyrics approach some historic episodes of the XX and XXI Century, following a chronological order, starting of the end of World War II; passing for the Cold War; for the dictatorships in Latin America; until the present time, with subjects as globalization and terrorism.

This year was that I more read and, therefore, I believe that the music thematics are more mature and based. Although to have a narrative character, the lyrics contain a more acid critical in relation to the previous works, to the values of the consumption society; to the wars; to the class domination; to the authoritarianism and all the types of preconceptions.
At last, the thematic one, beyond making a historical rescue of some important moments of last the fifty years, is an invitation to the reflection, in order to instigate the bangers to become free of values and attitudes that restrain them or that it makes them repressors.

This concern with the level of the thematic one is decurrent of some lamentable things that we have seen lately in the Heavy Metal scene, many guys speaking things and having ridicule attitudes, racists and homofobics, amongst other forms of intolerance and alienation that are for reproducing there. To not be with the arms crossed ahead of this situation, so we decide to revive the Heavy Metal subversive spirit, which seems to be forgotten for the majority bands of the current scene.

The compositions start for the debut album whose name was not defined but that it will have a thematic about politics. The recordings will go to start at January of 2007, by the way will have 10 tracks with heavy metal.

Divulging the release of the EP in sites of metal as Whiplash, Rock Brigade and Stayheavy... Amongst others also.

The new Herege website is online, created by Nitro Sound Solutions.

Herege will play again in June 3rd in Santa Maria, at Battle of Bands festival, where the concerts will be recorded for a DVD. Such video will soon be available here.

Changes in our line-up. Rui Pedroso is not part of Herege anymore. After a long talk the band decided that he had to go. it's important to say that the relationships between the band and him are fine, since he is, and was a great friend of ours. We wish him all the best with his studies in the mussic colege. Cheers man!

In April 13rd Herege will be playing in Cruz Alta, for the release of Bang Your Heads EP, which has three songs of the demo and two bonus: "Call Me Herege" and "Flag of the Metal", from the first demo Rise of the Fair, Fall of the Church, plus four videos recorded live at Expo Ijuí 2005.
