My son has a debilitating illness that has progressed now to the point of his being bed ridden. I have to help him up in the morning and put him in his wheelchair. One of his favorite things to do is take a shower. He loves to feel the water on his skin. I refuse to take this one pleasure from him by giving him sponge baths, so I started looking at handicap showers that would work for us. I found one that allows me to get him into the shower seat, buckle him in and help him shower. He still likes to try to do some of the work, and I let him. I am so thankful for having this option for him.
