Safes with dial locks are fast becoming a thing of the past. Digital Gun Safes have electronic locks which use keypads for accessing them. These electronic locks cannot be tampered with or broken into by burglars. They are also very easy to us, and very secure. This is because an electronic lock uses a number combination in the keypad for entry. It goes into a lockdown mode automatically, for five minutes. In addition to all these excellent qualities, the electronic lock is designed to have elegant good looks, like something that James Bond would have! In spite of all these great features, the electronic lock is not without some disadvantages. It is powered by batteries that usually have a life time of one year. It is expensive to replace or recharge the battery, and it also requires expensive maintenance. Another drawback is that if you accidentally press the wrong lock combination, it will go into automatic lock down mode and cannot be accessed again for five minutes. To cap it all, you will find yourself in a terrible situation if you ever forget the combination!
