Staying Sober for the Best Man Speech

This may go without saying, but if you’re the one in charge of giving the best man speech it’s a very good idea to stay sober before delivering it. If you are talking in front of hundreds of people it’s a good idea to shy away from the open bar, especially if you are delivering such heartfelt words as are typically required for  that type of speech. Not only will your delivery suffer, but also your sincerity. You have one shot at it, you owe it to the bride and groom to give it your best. Save the alcohol for later on, there will be plenty of time for it.
