Different Strokes For Different Folks

There are several different ways to exercise and work out.  There is cardio, aerobics, yoga, sports, and more.  However, if burning fat is your goal then I highly recommend looking into beginning a program called High Intensity interval training.  This is laid out in a new program called Fat Burning Furnace, written by Mike Poulos.  The basics of the program are that your body will burn fat faster when doing short bursts of all out exertion followed by slower paced exertion.  This triggers your body to produce fat burning hormones that speed the use of fat as fuel.  Check it out!
