When my sister told me that she was going to go away for a couple of days and that she needed me to watch her house I was a little surprised.  The reason that I was surprised is because my sister never goes away so the fact that she was planning a trip caught me off guard.  As it turns out, her husband made plans for the two of them to stay at a bed and breakfast because their five year anniversary is coming up.  This made sense to me as my sister would never have planned such a trip and because I wanted to make sure she would have no excuses to stay home I agreed to watch her house for her while she was away.

I decided that I wanted to take my wife to South Africa for our anniversary this year because she said she has always wanted to go there. I had typed cheap taupo accommodation into the online search and as soon as the results showed up I felt pretty silly as I had just had a mind block and forgotten to look for hostels. That is what I was after as I am trying to do my trip on a pretty tight budget. I’m driving from Warkworth down to Wellington and thought I would spend a night at the lake on the way, but again I don’t have a lot of money to spend, as it is, most of it is going toward the gas bill.
